This article introduces the Breast Cancer Care Quality Index (BCCQI), a new global framework designed to improve breast cancer outcomes by addressing persistent disparities in care. Building on the WHO’s Global Breast Cancer Initiative, the BCCQI provides practical guidance for countries through clear targets and indicators across four dimensions: early detection, timely diagnosis, comprehensive management, and resilient healthcare systems.
By emphasizing health equity, patient-centered care, universal access, quality, and treatment effectiveness, the BCCQI aims to serve as a flexible and strategic tool for governments and stakeholders to strengthen national cancer programs and ensure better outcomes for patients worldwide.
